TOBACCO CONTROL NGO CONTRE-FEU LAUNCHES A BLUESKY FEED DEDICATED TO EUROPEAN TOBACCO AND NICOTINE POLICY

With key tobacco and nicotine legislation currently under discussion at the European level, the tobacco industry is intensifying its lobbying efforts to put its economic interests ahead of public health and influence decision-making within the European Union.

Faced with this massive lobbying, the French NGO Contre-Feu, the alliance against the tobacco industry, is launching a Bluesky feed dedicated to European tobacco and nicotine policies. After exposing informal meetings between tobacco industry representatives and European institutions a few months ago, Contre-feu will closely analyse and respond to the key steps of the legislative process. The feed will provide real-time information on key developments, policy debates and industry influence at the EU level, while bringing Contre-Feu’s monitoring and advocacy work closer to journalists and stakeholders following these issues.

At a critical moment for tobacco control in Europe, Contre-Feu is strengthening its efforts to shed light on the tobacco industry’s lobbying activities and ensure that public health remains at the heart of EU policymaking.
